Orchard Park Resident Melissa Stoj Wins a Brockport Scholarship

The College at Brockport, State University of New York, has awarded scholarships to members of its incoming freshman class who have demonstrated academic excellence.

Melissa Stoj of Orchard Park, NY, won Brockport's Honors Scholarship.

Brockport awards three different types of scholarships to its incoming freshman. Freshman must live on-campus in order to be considered for the awards.

Its Presidential Scholarship is awarded to freshmen who have a high school average of 93 or higher, rank in the top 20 percent of their class and scored either a 1,200 or higher on their SAT exam or 26 or higher on their ACT exam.

Brockport's Dean's Scholarship goes to freshmen who are in the top 25 percent of their class, have a 90 or higher average and scored either an 1,100 or higher on their SAT exam or 24 or higher on their ACT exam.

The Recognition Scholarship is awarded to freshman who hail from outside of New York State and have demonstrated superior academic achievement throughout their high school program.

The Honors Scholarship is awarded to any freshman who is accepted into Brockport's Honors Program. To be accepted into this program, students must have a 92 or higher high school average and have scored 1,150 or higher on their SAT exam or 26 or higher on their ACT exam.

The College at Brockport is a comprehensive four-year public college, located in Brockport, NY. The College offers 50 undergraduate majors, more than 40 graduate programs as well as 24 teacher certification programs. The College has been rated among the "Best in the Northeast" by The Princeton Review, a "Best Regional University" by US News & World Report, and a "Best Value" by Kiplinger's Personal Finance.
